George Gershwin’s most recognised work, Rhapsody in Blue, is 100 years old and being celebrated with an arrangement that was nominated for a SAMA in 2015. This rendition, which has not been heard at the Woordfees before, combines technical virtuosity, lyrical melodies and toe-tapping rhythms with the joy of performance that is synonymous with this Trio. The programme will include well-known Gershwin compositions such as “I loves You, Porgy”, “I Got Rhythm” and “Summertime”, plus a few other surprises.
