This work was born in 2017 in Marchand, a village just outside Kakamas in the Northern Cape, when a cloudburst shortly after the start of Rocco’s outdoor show, put his own life and that of 400 guests at risk. The 15 new compositions look at things like global warming, the end of the Slave Act in 1833 and SA’s green icon Dave Pepler. Not to forget the plastic monster! The works are illustrated with readings from Rocco’s poetry collection, Die eiesoortiges.

Met: Rocco de Villiers (klavier), Lizelle le Roux (viool)
