Cariema Isaacs, author of Modern Cape Malay Cooking, lives in Dubai these days but learned to cook the Cape Malay way as did the Bo-Kaap’s Fayruza Abrahams from Taste Malay. These two discuss Cape Malay cooking, Special Days, traditions and spices. They are joined by Aunty Mardia Hendricks, caterer and Lotus River’s baking queen, and Shihaam Domingo, also a formidable cook. Guests will get to sample some of the delights that these cooks refer to.
