Seven years ago a mother and daughter had to start gathering and packing manure for sale as compost in order to earn a living when their husband and father locked himself in the attic. The family lost their farm in the Great Depression. On this night they have two visitors – a friend who wants to shield herself from the enticing call of the travelling circus, and a blind policeman who arrives to protect the defenceless women against a possible kidnapping ring operating in the town.

The screening is followed by a Q&A session aimed at grade 12 learners preparing for the matric exams.
