Europe and Britain have long been considered the preferred destinations for South African producers who export fresh produce and wine. Great successes have been achieved there, but there are also incredible opportunities to export to our neighbouring countries, the rest of Africa and the Middle East. However, market access and logistical challenges are some of the obstacles that exporters have to overcome. South Africa needs to make better use of its Brics membership to gain greater access to India and China.
