A solo exhibition by Christine Dixie Blueprint for the Disorder of Things collapses time and space, moving between the Great Plague in 16th and 17th century Europe to the more recent Covid Pandemic. The colour indigo, used for ‘blueprint’, permeates this exhibition. The architectural references associated with a blueprint – by which architects draw out ‘a plan for the future’ – becomes paradoxical in the context of disorder. This body of superb work had its beginnings in Stellenbosch whilst Christine Dixie undertook a residency at STIAS.
