ver af, en is nog ver van afgeloop.<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Dr. Donovan Lawrence van die departement Afrikaans en Nederlands aan die Universiteit van Wes-Kaapland het \u2019n lewendige gesprek oor die onderwerp gelei voor \u2019n belangstellende gehoor wat enduit geboei geluister en prikkelende vrae gestel het wat soms verfrissend van die konvensionele\u00a0 afgewyk het.<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Op die paneel saam met Lawrence was die skrywers Dianne du Toit Albertze (wie se roman <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Bottelnek breek bek<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> verskeie dialekte insluit \u2013 van Gayle (\u201cmoffietaal\u201d) tot Kaaps en Namakwalandse Afrikaans), Grant Jefthas (sy digbundel <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Afvlerkmens<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> is \u2019n voorbeeld van skiem-Afrikaans, gewortel in die laekoste-behuisingskemas waarin baie van ons land se bruin mense woon), Elias P. Nel (sy jongste boek, <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Die Jirre is my Wagter<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, is nogmaals in Namakwaland-Afrikaans) en Loit S\u014dls (veteraan-eksponent van Goema-Afrikaans\u00a0 \u2013 wat volgens hom inderdaad \u201cgoema\u201d gespel word en nie \u201cghoema\u201d nie \u2013 wie se jongste boek <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Moersta\u0101l<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0 heet).<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Daar is darem niks so lekker soos digters wat hul eie werk voordra nie (dis hoe die Woordfees destyds ontstaan het!) en die digters as uitvoerende kunstenaars was inderdaad die hoogtepunt van die aanbieding.<\/span><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t<section class=\"elementor-section elementor-top-section elementor-element elementor-element-64d912a elementor-section-boxed elementor-section-height-default elementor-section-height-default\" data-id=\"64d912a\" data-element_type=\"section\" haar ook so skryf. Du Toit Albertze sluit in haar roman \u2019n woordelys in vir mense wat met die woordeskat van dialekte sukkel. Haar doelwit met <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Bottelnek breek bek <\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">was om transgender karakters nie as slagoffers of geweldenaars uit te beeld nie, maar om die hakke en die lippe outentiek te laat klap. S\u014dls het vertel hoe dood sy Engelse skryfwerk was, toe slaan hy in 1985 oor na goema en toe kry dit skielik lewe. \u201cEk spel verkeerd en ek <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">punctuate<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> sleg, maar die storie moet uit,\u201d s\u00ea hy.<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u2019n Ope vraag is inderdaad hoe \u2019n mens variante waarvoor geen woordeboek bestaan nie, korrek of konsekwent spel, en die paneel blyk grootliks te glo spelling is \u2019n veranderlike. Nel het uitgewys die spreektaal in Namakwaland is dinamies en l\u00ea op sigself gevarieerd in die volksmond.<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Die bekende en skynbaar retoriese oor die gewaande minderwaardigheid van variante vergeleke met standaardafrikaans (veral in die o\u00eb en gemoed van die sprekers van variante) is afgestof, met meer frustrasie as antwoorde waarneembaar. Daar is wel genoem en bevestig die gewaande minderwaardigheid van variante inhibeer die sprekers daarvan om te skryf, veral die kindersprekers van hierdie variante.<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u2019n Vraag uit die gehoor oor hoe variante bevorder en onderrig kan word sonder \u2019n woordelys en spelre\u00ebls, is nie baie helder beantwoord nie.
