Oor die jare het hy al selfs Bach en Beethoven se bekendste musiek effens op die kop gekeer en dit saam met die kontrabasspeler Werner Spies en tromspeler Peter Auret met \u2019n jazz-mondering in pure genot omskep soos net hulle kan. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Hulle het \u2019n reputasie vir opwindende verwerkings wat nooit te naby aan kitsch kom nie, maar ook nie heeltemal wegbly van kitsch nie, want anders raak dit net \u2019n ernstige aff\u00eare.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In hulle program Dinsdagaand het die trio die Amerikaner George Gershwin se musiek aangedurf \u2013 in hulle gewone styl. Al ken jy die wysie, maak hierdie trio heelwat musikale bakdraaie wat dalk nooit Gershwin se pad sou kruis nie. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Hulle toegif was \u201cSummertime\u201d, uit die opera <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Porgy and Bess<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, wat omskep is van \u2019n wiegelied tot pure \u201cskop, skiet en donder\u201d, soos Du Plessis spot \u2013 dit word \u2019n vurige stuk musiek wat beslis nie slaap aanwakker nie.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Du Plessis hou van agter die klavier die leisels vas en wys sy puik klaviertegniek, veral in die innemende <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Rhapsody in Blue<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, waarmee hulle die konsert afgesluit het.
