It\u2019s a living, if not much of a life. When a stranger hires him to wait at his dying mother\u2019s bedside, Lionel reluctantly takes the job. Alone in her eccentric home filled with memories, he begins piecing together who this woman really was. A musician. An adventurer. Someone who actually lived. While a number of feature films from seasoned filmmakers make their world debut or South African premiere at this prestigious event, the festival is also a showcase for emerging talent: a series of short films, produced under the festival\u2019s banner with the necessary mentorship, annually shine a spotlight on their craft.<br\/>The Film Festival proudly presents <strong>6 short films <\/strong>from up-and-coming filmmakers, <strong>4<\/strong> <strong>short films<\/strong> from established filmmakers, and <strong>5 short documentaries<\/strong> from the 2026 kykNET Silwerskerm Festival programme.
