In the 1980s, the Church\u2019s prophetic voice rang out loudly, whether laying the foundations of apartheid or opposing it. Now, with municipal elections around the corner, urgent questions arise: Who speaks on behalf of God? When does faith become a political weapon? And what happens when the church ceases to be a prophet and becomes a propagandist? (And does our electoral system even work?) Is it time for the church to reclaim its prophetic voice?
