SILWERSKERM FESTIVAL 2025: SHORT FILM (ESTABLISHED)
Eleven-year-old Tyrone, an autistic boy, finds solace in painting – a bond he and his late mother shared. “Find me between the brushstrokes,” she said, and these words haunt him, leading him to a world where memories live in colour on canvas. At home, his mother’s absence is like an unfinished painting. His father, consumed by grief, closes the door to her studio and forbids him from entering, but for Tyrone, it is the last place where he can still feel his mother’s presence. Caught between his need to obey his father and his longing to keep her close, Tyrone loses himself in his art. In his imagination, the paintings come to life. Each brushstroke becomes a silent act of hope, resistance and healing – proof that love can shine brightly even in silence and absence, woven into the colours of his world.
