Where on earth can one find a cow, tiger, nightingale, moth, merlin, dove, swan, bee, fish, rattlesnake, griffin, two storks and twelve snails in an hour? Only in Moonlit Menagerie, of course. In this inventive recital the quirky children’s poems in Jake Heggies’s Songs to the Moon are balanced with the romantic 8 Lieder und Gesänge, Opus 58 by Brahms. Added to these works are songs by Wolf and Hahn that also feature animals, and/or the moon.

Met Lente Louw (mezzosopraan), Albie van Schalkwyk (klavier)
