Tonderai, a young Zimbabwean boy living in a South African township, anxiously awaits his mother’s return from work at sunset. A xenophobic mob is rampaging through the streets, and he fears the worst. He watches over his seriously ill and bedridden younger brother, who is becoming desperate for drinking water. Without running water in their shack, Tonderai must move around in the shadows like a rodent to fetch safe drinking water for his brother from the communal tap. He risks his life because his neighbors are attacking foreigners.
