Boesman and Lena are two homeless outcasts, exposed to each other, the elements and a political system that disregards them. Athol Fugard’s iconic play is a compelling exploration of the complexity of relationships and social injustice. It is also a celebration of the power and resilience of the human spirit, and our universal need for hope, compassion, and human understanding. A fitting tribute to South Africa’s greatest playwright, who passed away in 2025.
