Antjie Krog: Binnerym van bloed

Antjie Krog says she has finished writing. Binnerym van bloed, also published in English as Blood’s Inner Rhyme, is her last book. In this autobiographical novel, she wants to find a way to continue conversations with her mother, Dot Serfontein, to “try to find final clarity.” The poet who became known to many of us through a beloved poem about her mother, concludes her life as a writer with a book about her mother that transcends genres and lifts the lid on taboos.
