Ateljeebesoeke: Marinda du Toit

Marinda builds characters from found objects, such as wood, plastic, metal, wire, paper and textiles. These characters resemble the people she watches – their posture, walk and energy. The objects and material guide her to build figurines or collages intuitively. The history of the material and assemblage thereof establishes a renewed narrative to the objects and the artwork.
