DEBUT
With Daneel van der Walt, Jefferson J. Dirks-Korkee, Wian Taljaard, René Cloete
A difficult menopause forces Daneel Merwe (Danny) to return to childhood with a mother who is addicted to sugar, and a bank manager father who sometimes hides in the garden shed. As a toddler she felt that something in their house was not good. As an adolescent she knew it, and rebellion, anger and hatred broke the windows of her seemingly safe home. Gradually her eyes were opened to the tendency towards depression and addiction in herself and her family. Rejection, alienation and abandonment by God follow her like her shadow. But it is only in her middle years that Danny realises it is essential to forgive those who have hurt and disappointed her.
