JAN BLOED

Alister Fortuin, formerly known as Jan Bloed, is a former member of the Fast Guns and Varados gangs in Westbury. We follow his story from childhood to young manhood to incarceration, and learn how he changed his life in prison. After 22 years, he is released on parole and marries Engeline Fortuin. We walk with him through Westbury and see all the places that mean something to him. He introduces us to people from his past and present. We meet his mother, Felicity, who tells him that he has always been just Alister, not Jan Bloed. Alister opens his heart about his son, Vercaino, who is currently in prison. He dreams of being a better father and a positive role model for Vercaino. As a pastor, he now strives to sway the hearts and minds of the new generation. Will the family fall back into crime, or will they stand strong? Will they walk the narrow path in Westbury together, or will their paths lead them in different directions?
