Camille Saint-Saëns’ comedic Carnival of the Animals brings the animal kingdom to life with a narrator, the Stellenbosch City Orchestra under the baton of Paul Loeb van Zuilenburg, and two pianos. In this well-known suite, the composer uses brilliant instrumental effects to paint vivid musical pictures. This half-hour work is preceded by lighter classical music and vocal items, setting the scene for the beloved Carnival suite. An unforgettable experience for both young and the young at heart!
