Jana wants to be a mermaid, and her beloved husband, Jakob, makes it possible at all costs. She finds an agent who buys into her mermaid fantasy, and a new beginning full of promising opportunities unfolds. The amiable merman Thea inspires Jana to persevere in a career as a mermaid, but the deeper she gets lost in the dream, the closer she moves to her own downfall. Jana’s first professional performance turns into a disaster. Jakob tries to save his wife from grief, but she reaches breaking point and reveals a dark secret under her fin.
