The Woordfees kicked off in 2000 with a night of passion – a celebration of Afrikaans literature. The writers’ programme continues to be the cornerstone, foundation and crown jewel of the Woordfees. With this event, the Woordfees would like to recognize the tremendous contribution of our writing community and place the spotlight on the true superstars of our festival: mostly shy of the limelight or a camera, often reserved and slightly bashful, but once that spirit is ignited…
