The Stellenbosch Science Café is an initiative of Stellenbosch University’s Faculty of Science that encourages public discussions on scientific issues.

Science Café: SA-China: Why Study Space Rocks?

Space rocks can either kill us or give us access to another habitable world in outer space. Geologists from Stellenbosch University and an astronomer from the South African Astronomical Observatory tell us what they are up to when studying asteroids and planetary defense systems.

With Dr Matthew Mayne (geologist, Department of Earth Sciences, Stellenbosch University), Ms Llelani Coetzer (MSc student, Department of Earth Sciences, Stellenbosch University), Dr Nicolas Erasmus (astronomer, South African Radio Astronomy Observatory (SARAO))
