It is difficult to single out standout moments in a show so packed with talent, but a few deserve special mention. The gasp-inducing balancing act involving boards and tubes had half of the audience on the edge of our seats, while the rest had their hands over their eyes – too tense to watch the flirtation with disaster happening atop a table. Equally captivating was the juggler who tossed batons into the air in ever-changing rhythms and formations with effortless grace that had the audience spellbound. And way above the stage was the aerial performer whose fluid strength and acrobatic fitness made the silk and hoop work seem almost otherworldly. Adding emotional depth to the spectacle, the hauntingly beautiful a cappella rendition of “When the Party’s Over” lingered long after the final note faded.
