As she searches for security within the context of South Africa’s complex history, she shares humorous and poignant anecdotes from her childhood and cultural misunderstandings around identity. Hoort highlights the resilience of marginalized communities and celebrates the richness of cultural diversity through a vibrant mix of music, including jazz, gospel and original compositions in multiple languages.
