This performance promises lovers of choral music an exciting musical experience. Pieter van der Westhuizen’s “Loof, loof, loof die Here” exhibits intriguing melodic inspiration. Chris Lamprecht’s “Verbly jul in die Here” is an early contribution to the Afrikaans cantata. “Genesing”, by Henk Temmingh, is a challenging but expressive work for choir, tenor and strings. Ben van Niekerk, with his “Geloofsbelydenis”,__is a promising newcomer. The first première of Winfried Lüdemann’s large scale “Kersfeeskantate” is an imaginative contribution to the Afrikaans cantata.
