High tide at high noon: reflections on and in water. We seem to always have either too much water or too little, or, indeed, often, both at the same time. Flooded homes and roads do not necessarily mean that we have sufficient clean water for our household, industrial and agricultural needs. We will explore multiple issues around water, including how and why we waste and pollute the water sources. We will also consider our oceans and coastlines, and the tensions and anxieties around water use and abuse. Our ancestors treated watery places as sacred. Have we lost their wisdom in a neoliberal age where everything is reduced to utility and profit?
