With Lynelle Kenned, Mario Nell(harpisichord), Johanna Roos(violin)
Anna Maria della Pietà was Venice’s child prodigy. By the age of eight she was already a violinist and composer, and at twelve she became the youngest concert master of the renowned orchestra of the Ospedale della Pietà.
Born a foundling and the daughter of a prostitute. Her teacher was none other than the brilliant Antonio Vivaldi, who dedicated 28 of his violin concertos to her. Some even speculate that she may have composed parts of them herself. This intimate work of music and storytelling brings to life the remarkable journey of Vivaldi’s most successful pupil and Anna Maria’s transformation from vulnerable orphan to celebrated Maestra di violino and Maestra di coro.
