The second Woordfees art auction and accompanying exhibition at the Stellenbosch Town Hall

The annual Toyota US Woordfees Art Auction, in collaboration with Strauss & Co, will take place on October 12 at the Stellenbosch Town Hall.

Artworks available for bidding this year will be on display at the Town Hall prior to the auction. These include works by both well-known and emerging artists, catering to a variety of tastes.

“The works on display are incredibly diverse, but as a whole the exhibition sparks joy. It’s a real visual tonic. So, the show ties in well with the fizz and effervescence in the festival theme – Bubble. It’s a refreshing experience in a world where art tends be so serious and sombre,” says the curator, Teresa Lizamore.

Out of the 180 works on display, approximately 90 will be auctioned.

Join us on October 12 from 18:00 to take part in the excitement of the auction. Prospective buyers will also have the option to bid online or by phone. Strauss & Co will make available an online catalog featuring the works for sale. Keep an eye on our social media and website for further details.

All works will be on display in the town hall throughout the duration of the festival. Guided tours will be offered on October 10, 11, and 12 at 10:00. The tours will last approximately 50 minutes and is free of charge.
